In April 1961 a group in St. Catharines formed Club Roma.
About Us
Club Roma is proud to be celebrating more than 50 years of Italian culture in Canada.
Club Roma was established in St. Catharines, Ontario in April 1961. The membership of Club Roma is comprised of more than 800 individuals from a variety of professions and trades. Our club continues to flourish due to the collaborative efforts of our member volunteers. We value the diversity within our membership and welcome other philanthropic-minded individuals to join us in sharing the Club Roma experience.
Club Roma: Our Mission
Club Roma exists to make a positive difference to individuals, families and the Niagara community by providing opportunities for members to maintain and promote their Italian heritage and culture. Through utilization of banquet facilities to the general public and community events, funds are generated and reinvested into our club as well as within our community via donations to local charitable organizations. Let me take you back to April, 1961. A group of 19 visionary Italian immigrants gathered with a common goal in mind, to create a social club, a gathering place, a safe haven if you will, for the growing immigrant Italian population in the St. Catharines area. These founding members, some who are still with us, took a leap of faith that the Italian Community would band behind them and support their initiative. Read more...
