The Big Move Ride Raises $465,000 to support new cancer centre
"On behalf of the Big Move Ride Committee, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Club Roma for being gracious hosts of the 3rd Annual Big Move Cancer Ride, September 11, 2011. The Big Move Cancer Ride is a non-competitive ride (50k, 100k or 100 mile) to raise money in support of the Walker Family Cancer Centre. We are thrilled to announce that, after expenses, $465,000 was raised and directed toward the state-of-the-art regional Cancer Centre. Club Roma is a wonderful venue for such an event and was able to accommodate over 500 cyclists, 200 volunteers and their friends and families. Staff was more than accommodating to our needs during, and leading up to the event. We were lucky to have Michele Atkinson and her staff with us in the sports complex to assist in serving the delicious pasta with meatballs and salad. We were excited to see the new and improved landscaping around the pavilion this year! It is always a pleasure to work with the team at Club Roma; we look forward to hosting the 13th annual Run/Walk for the General and 4th annual Big Move Cancer Ride at your facilities in 2012. "
